- Stay calm
The moments after an accident are very stressful and can be traumatic, however it is very important you remain as calm as possible.
- Check for injuries
Call an ambulance immediately if you or your passenger(s) are injured. Even if no injuries are apparent it is important the authorities are alerted. Some injuries may not show until long after the accident.
- Call the police

- Do not move the vehicles until the police arrive

- Take notes about the accident
As much information as possible including a description of the other vehicle or vehicles, insurance information from the other driver, time of day, where the accident occurred and any details you can remember in the few moments prior to the accident. If you have a camera or a camera phone, take pictures of the damage to your vehicle and the scene. Scan the area for witnesses, if there are any try obtain the name and contact information. Having such information will make your claim more reliable.
